Program:
The project reimagines an existing neighborhood park as a more inclusive, active, and interconnected public space. A broad mix of recreational uses is organized around a central lawn and amphitheater-like stepped seating, creating a flexible civic landscape that can support informal gathering, play, performances, and community events. Existing amenities are strengthened and integrated with new features including a futsal court, artificial turf recreation area, bocce court, fitness stations, a restored splash fountain, and expanded play opportunities. A small stage anchors the central gathering space, allowing the park to function equally well for everyday use and programmed events.
The design also treats landscape and infrastructure as essential parts of the park experience. Stormwater retention areas are incorporated as planted landscape features that help manage runoff while adding ecological value and visual character. New accessible entrances improve connections to the surrounding neighborhood, while perimeter planting, shade trees, seating, and pedestrian paths create a more comfortable and welcoming environment. A mural and horizontal climbing wall add identity and activity along the park edge, reinforcing the park as both a recreational destination and a distinctive community gathering place.
